Y., took place [on Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock in (the Winnetka Congregational church. | The service was read by the Reverend J. A. Richards. The wedding was a simple one, attended by relatives and friends. Miss Margaret Brew of Evanston, was maid of honor, while the brides- maids were Miss Kathryn McDonough of St. Paul, Minn, and Miss Rita Biondi of Chicago. Yellow and orchid shades dominated the wedding as the bridesmaids were dressed in yellow and carried orchids. Benjamin Car- penter, brother of the groom, whose home is in Whitehall, N. Y., served as best man. The ushers were Wesley L. Brown of Winnetka, and Gordon Van Kirk, of Evanston. Three of the bridal party are members of the facul- ty of New Trier High school, as is Mr. Carpenter. A dinner for thirty of the couple's relatives and friends was held in the Pompeian room of the Orrington ho- tel after the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter intend to take a short trip 1516 Hinman avenue, Evanston, on Septem before they will be at home at ber 10, and will take a longer trip west later. On Thursday eve- ning, Wesley Brown and Gordon Van Kirk gave a dinner party at the Mor- raine hotel, and the final festivity was a dinner dance at the Indian Hill club given by Miss Mary -S.
