The pride of his home in Holly- wood is the enormous bathroom with its seven-foot tub. You see, he is six feet, three! "Laff That Off" Next Minturn Presentation "Laff That Off," a comedy by Don | | Mullally, first presented by Earl Car- roll in New York, will be next week's offering by the Minturn Players at the Chateau theater. "Laff That Off" en- joyed a run of over a year in New York city and a full season in Chicago. The plot concerns three young men who are batching it. One of them meets an unknown but very charming young actress whose sorry plight wins the confidence of the three boys. They adopt her and make her a member of the "gang." All three pledge themselves not to make love to her; all three fall in love with her and all three nearly have their faith in human nature shattered. One of them is the lucky winner and the play ends as it should. Clever. Village Theatre Installs Radio for Dempsey Fight A radio is now being installed at the Village theatre for the purpose of pre- senting the Dempsey-Tunney fight for the benefit of patrons of the theater next Thursday night, Manager J. B. Koppe lannounced this week. The radio announcements, it is anticipated, will be clear enough to be heard plainly in all parts of the house. The broadcast will be in addition to the regular pro- gram, | the most Village Bills "Resurrection" for Next Week "Resurrection," Tolstoy's flesh-and- blood drama of prince and peasant, love sacred and profane, brings Rod I.LaRocque and Dolores del Rio to the screen of the Village theater in one of brilliant pictures that has | ever been presented. You will like "Resurrection" as you have seldom liked any drama. It will be shown at the Village for three days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. In "The Silent Avenger," the feature for Thursday, they have injected a touch of polite atmosphere novel to "dog stories," then the outdoor scenes to give the dog opportunities not af- forded indoors and finaly a series of scenes wherein it is up. to "Thunder" to stop an express train to save it from being wrecked. He does it all right-- to the intense satisfaction .of every film fan who sees him. It is a pleas- ant little dog story, presenting for the first time a new canine star. "Soft Cushions" is a laugh from be- ginning to finish. It's the kind of a picture that makes a cash customer forget to chew his gum.s Douglas McLean, who made you laugh until you shook like Santa Claus with "Let It Rain," comes again in this bur- lesque on movie shieks and sly dig at Douglas Fairbanks and almost paralyz- es you. I'll say it's good. | THE sew EVANSTON EVENING AT 8:15 -- MAT. WED. © SAT. E CLYDE ELLIOTT PRESENTS THE ANSTON PLAYER WITH MARGERY WILLIAMS ERNEST WOODWARD AND CAST OF DRAMATIC STARS IN GEORGE M.
