Winnetka 254 Newest Model House in Golf Makes Ideal Home Unusual interest has been attached to everything done in the town of Golf at the Glen View Golf course because of the success that has marked every step in the progress of that exceptional community. Real es- tate operators and home builders have been interested since the selection of the site in the heart of the north shore country club district and when the community plan of ownership, compelling each newcomer to be ap- proved by the present residents, was decided upon, a better class of home owners was immediately attracted. The opening of model homes in Golf has made the suburb a mecca for home lovers. Houses built in the com- munity must meet a standard that ignores the limitations usually imposed on houses that are built only to sell. Golf's newest model home is com- pletely furnished. It is of modern French architecture, set well back on its lovely lot. Its graceful lines, square-paneled type windows, light colored shutters, sun room on one end and garage on the other, give a picture of hospitality and balance often sought for and seldom attained in a house of comparatively moderate cost. New Trier Juniors Plan Election of 28 Officers Petitions for the nomination of Junior class officers at the New Trier High school are now being circulated among the students and the election will be held during the coming week. Fol- lowing the custom of previous years, the president and treasurer will be chosen from among the boys of the class while the vice-president and sec- retary will be girls. Expert on Home Gardens to Address Club Meeting Miss Katherine Beebe of Winnetka, who is famous on the north shore for her knowledge of gardennig and her wonderful success in her own garden, will tell the Winnetka Garden club about "Successes and Failures of the Summer of 1927," at the next meeting of the club. This is to be held at the home of Mrs. Ernest Ballard, 811 Au- burn road, Winnetka, Thursday, Sep- tember 29, at 2:30 o'clock. Following her talk, Miss Beebe will lead a round- table discussion of the subject. Sears School Opens With Enrollment Exceeding 350 Enrollment at the Joseph Sears school, Kenilworth, has reached a total of 350 pupils, it was announced this week by Supt. E. L. Nygaard. The registration is considered large for this time in the school year as ordinarily a large number of the pupils do not re- turn to Kenilworth from summer trips until some time after classes have actually started. This year, however, the greater part of the pupils have re- turned previous to the opening of school.
