The north division of this group comprises nine members, the personnel of which is Thomas J. Lynch, presi- dent of the Winnetka Chamber of Commerce; William Edwards, building commissioner of Glencoe; I. M. Willis, of Kenilworth; Charles S. Stewart, of Desplaines, and Si Mayer, A. D. Pla- mondon, Louis F. Swift, Andrew Halas, and John W. Dienhart, of Chi- cago. State to Investigate Spurious Health Books Declaring that the country is flooded with spurious health literature in the form of books, periodicals, pamphlets and tracts, Dr. Isaac D. Rawlings, Illi- nois state health director, announced this week that his department has started a survey to determine how much of this unscientific propaganda is finding its way into the public li- braries. The first few reports indicate that the amount is significant, accord- ing to the director. The guild of the Kenilworth Union church will open its season of activity on Monday, October 3, with a lunch- eon. Mrs. Livingston is president of the guild.
