Scalp Treatments, Shampooing, Mazcelling, Permanent Waving Marinello Beauty Shop Phone Winnetka 822 Youthful Audience Enthusiastic Over Symphony Concert by Critic Haydn's "Surprise Symphony," which has been used to good effect in many musical programs, some of them of relatively greater moment than this one, proved to be an entirely appro- priate opening number for the first of the afternoon concerts for young peo- ple which the Little Symphony orches- tra presented under the direction of George Dasch at the New Trier High school last Monday. While the music north who have been more or less intimately acquainted with Mr. Dasch's organiza- tion, have been predicting that the concerts would be unusually pleasing this year, even they were not quite prepared for the pleasant sur- prise which accompanied the opening number. Last year's concerts were a splendid beginning for the re-vamped orchestra but, as fine as the programs were, they cannot compare with the opening con- cert which was presented last Monday afternoon. The many hours of practice together have had a decided effect upon the organization and have re- sulted in an orchestra of the finest of quality. There was in evidence throughout the concert an appreciation of spirit and theme that had the effect of establishing Mr. Dasch's orchestra upon a very high and very firm pedestal of favor with its auditors. Maria Matyas, the soloist for the afternoon, was charming and in both the aria from "Mignon" and the lighter Russian folk songs fulfilled every ex- pectation that might have been held by her audience. some of lovers of the shore TO VISIT SON Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stein of 812 Lloyd place leave tomorrow for New York, to meet their son, Henry, who is a student at Dartmouth.
