"One hundred and forty women worked so successfully on a house-to- house canvass, and the pupils of New Trier High school and of North Shore Country Day school contributed so generously" continues the statement, "that we were able to report the en- rollment of 1635 members, who con- tributed a total of $3,226. This is sev- eral hundred dollars better than we have ever done before, and each worker may well enjoy a special sense of grat- ification in having taken part in so suc- cessful an effort to express the gen- erosity of our community." Officials Authorize New Alley in North Section A revised proceedings for the es- tablishment of an alley west of Linden avenue, Hubbard Woods, from Tower road to Merrill avenue, was authorized by the Winnetka board of local im- provements last Tuesday evening. A public hearing was set on the mat- ter of a proposed alley from Tower to Merrill, for Tuesday evening. There were no objections, and the board au- thorized the necessary ordinance which will be introduced at the next meeting of the board. wm INVITE 2500 MASONS TO TEMPLE DEDICATION Committee Perfects Plans for Rites With Emmerson Presiding Plans for the dedication of the Ma- sonic temple at Maple avenue and Lake street, Evanston, on Saturday, Decem- ber 17, are being completed by the committee in charge.
