Tenney of the Winnetka Village council, Chief of Police W. M. Peterson, members of the department and the Police Pension board bid official farewell to John Dehmlow, veteran officer of the Winnetka Police department, who has retired on pension, and presented him with a beautiful gold watch and chain in a commendatory program last Sunday. Sleigh Ride Abandoned; Play Basketball Instead Because of the lack of snow Tues- day evening, the Girl's Friendship cir- cle had to give up the sleigh ride planned for that evening. Instead of the ride, they enjoyed a basketball game in the gymnasium at Community House, and a delightful social hour. The girls are planning a bunco party to be given Tuesday, February 7. This is to be open to the public. The topic of the Sunday morning sermon at Winnetka Congregational church by Rev. James Austin Richards will be, "Simple Religion." This serv- ice is at 11 o'clock. At the vesper service at 5 o'clock, the sermon by Rev. Thomas A. Goodwin will be, "The Disciplines of Love." 62 Day School Alumni Attend Annual Meeting The annual meeting of the alumni association of the North Shore Coun- try Day school was held December 27, at which there were sixty-two members present, The following officers were elected: Robert Clark, president; Catherine Adams, vice-president; Harriet Leon- ard, secretary; Larned Blatchford, treasurer. Plans were suggested for the found- ing of a scholarship in the school in the name of the alumni association. Of the members present, the class of 1927 had the largest number and the class of 1925 the next. Eleven were present from Harvard and nine from Yale.
