Pupils Give Joint Recital at Club Meeting A joint recital will be given next Thursday at the regular meeting of the New Trier High school music club by Mary Louise Cotton, pianist, and Robert Brown, violinist. The program will be given in four parts. Both of the students participating in the recital are noted for their musical accomplishment both af the High school and throughout the north shore. The program will be as follows: A. S. Carpenter Passes Away Following Illness A. S. Carpenter of 411 Linden ave- nue, Winnetka, who was taken to the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago on Tuesday of last week because of critical illness, passed away at that institution last Saturday. Funeral services were conducted from the Scott Funeral Home in Wilmette on Monday of this week. Mr. Carpenter was 63 years of age. He had been ill for some time, suf- fering from a complication of ills and, because of his critical condition, little hope was entertained for his recovery at the time of his removal to the hospital.
