ADAMS PHARMACY The Rexall Store Fim & Linden WINNETKA 2 mara: Camp Fire Sparks The Otyokwa group of Camp Fire Gilrs, Mrs. J. M. Winscott, guardian, has been learning and practising knot- tying, and each girl is planning to make a knot-board with at least twenty-five knots, January nineteenth was a work meeting for this group, the girls working on bead bands and on decorating their ceremonial gowns. January twenty-sixth the group held a Council Fire, and beads for honors won were awarded. Freda Simon was taken into the group at this meeting. The members of the Otyokwa Group are: Caroline Barrett, Henrietta Boal, Elizabeth Boldenweck, Harriet Daughaday, Florence Howell, Vir- ginia Kloepfer, Nancy Knode, Dorothy Sawyer, Frances Simon, Evelyn Smith, Louise Varney, Miriam Westerfeld, Leslie Wilson, Freda Simon. The A-ki-yu-ha-pi group of Camp Fire Girls, Miss Mildred Olson and Miss Gwendolyn Addenbrooke, guardians, visited the Village hall January 19, in order that the girls working for Fire Maker's rank might become better ac- quainted with the village offices, and certain phases of the village manage- ment. The O-e-ce-ca group, Mrs. Isidor Lang and Mrs. Robert Meleney, guardians, had a Fire Maker's dinner, January 12. Miriam Fetcher and Virginia Lang, who are working for this rank, cooked and served the din- ner. Thursday, January 20, the Un-ta-lu- ti group, Mrs. John Marshall and Mrs. Guilford Windes, guardians, met with the O-e-ce-ca group to demon- strate some of the Camp Fire "Mo- tion Songs." M-------------- Noted Authority on Music to Speak Here Thursday Afternoon Thomas Whithey Surette, perhaps one of the most outstanding authori- ties on the study of music apprecia- tion and an eminent musician, will speak at the Greeley school at o'clock next Thursday afternoon. The meeting is being held under the aus- pices of the Greeley Parent-Teacher association and all residents of the Vil- lage and the north shore are invited to attend, Mr. Surette was at one time a lec- turer for Oxford University and is at the present time associated with Har- vard University. He is connected with a great many public and private schools in an advisory capacity, among which are the Winnetka public schools and the North Shore Country Day school. He is also one of the board of directors of the Boston Pub- lic schools and an advisor of the music departments of Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore colleges. His chosen field lies particularly along music appreciation lines and his talk will be devoted mainly to this phase of the study of music. As many parents have asked about music and the proper way of teaching it to children he will also give suggestions to parents regarding music in the home, and answer questions. A special invitation has been ex- tended to the members of the Win- netka Music club to attend the ad- dress, which will be followed by a tea. PRESIDENT OF C.A.A. Hobart P. Young, 708 Prospect ave- nue, was elected president of the Chicago Athletic association at a meet- ing held at the club Tuesday, Janu- ary 24.
