March 10, 1928 WINNETKA: TALK New Trier Track Men Will Engage Western Rivals New Trier trackmen will engage in a meet with Proviso and LaGrange Saturday morning at Patten gym, with possibly a Morton team entered to grab a handful or more of points. In a former meet with Proviso and Morton, New Trier did a bit of clean- ing up on the other two schools in the seniors while Proviso ran off with the junior meet with Morton trailing in. both divisions. The New Trier juniors met defeat last Saturday when they took on the LaGrange men at LaGrange, being sent home on the short end of a 48 to 20 tally. New Trier seniors have a good chance to take first honors against Proviso or Morton alone, but with the LaGrange team--itself of no little ability--to reckon with, Coach Nay's men expect to have some up-hill work. Then, too, if Morton enters the meet, the high jump, and high hurdles, and possibly the shot-put are almost cer- tain to fall that way. It will more than likely be a question of whether or not La Grange will be able to take away enough points from New Trier to give the contest to Proviso, or whether it will be Proviso that will loose the points. Then, also, the New Trier-Proviso fight may result in a victory for the LaGrange men. The stiffest race will probably come in the quarter mile run, with Cassell of New Trier against McHugh of Pro- viso; in the former meet Cassell just beat McHugh by less than a yard, and if McHugh can gain the lead early in the race, Saturday, he probably will be able to retain it. McIntosh, Williams, Hill, Russell, and deBeers of New Trier; Meyers, Lockart, Zimmer and Lilleg of La- Grange; Lietz, Harris, Milshafer, and Troikel of Proviso; and Morrick and In Lenten Sermon Rev. John K. Coolidge, rector of the Church of St. Elisabeth in Glencoe, will preach the sermon at the Lenten service to be held in the Kenilworth Union church Wednesday evening, March 14, at 8 o'clock, under the joint auspices of the Church of the Holy Comforter and the Kenilworth Union church. The two Kenilworth churches are co-operating in a series of weekly Lenten services. The Cub Troop of Vista del Lago held its officers' meeting at the home of Dan Killips in Winnetka Wednes- day. The Sweethearts party of the troop was held at the regular meeting Saturday. About one-hundred mothers were present. People in Illinois consumed 7.7 per cent of the candy sold in the United States during 1927. Mission of Morton will be the point- taking men in the juniors.
