Rockwell Dof0ay ov ES = For Emergency Service January 26, 1928 38 Cases of Chicken-pox; 15 of Mumps, in February Aside from the 38 cases of chicken- pox and 15 cases of mumps reported in Winnetka during the month of Feb- ruary, the general health of the cit- izens of the village was very good, in- deed, according to the monthly report of Health Officer Dr. H. A. Orvis. There are also three cases of scarlet fever and three of whooping cough. All of the forty-one food handling places inspected during the month scored above 80, according to Dr. Or- vis' report, an excellent showing, it is pointed out. There were 46 babies at the four baby clinics held during the month, RETURNED TO FT. SHERIDAN Lyle IL. Green, army deserter, ar- rested by the Winnetka police last week, was returned to Fort Sheridan Wednesday. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings of next week, there will be the customary mid-week Celebrations of the Holy Com- munion at 9:30 in the chapel. On Thursday afternoon at 4:30, the children will assemble for their Lenten service, and again there will be 'shown lantern slides relative to the work of the church. The women of Christ church will meet next Monday for the third of their special Lenten meetings. Following a Litany service in the Chapel at 10 there will be a two-hour session for sewing. The various articles being made during Lent will help support the work being car- ried on in St. Luke's hospital, Chicago, St. Mary's Home for Girls, the Church Mission of Help, the Mission of St. Mary's-on-the-Mountain in Tennessee, and Christ Church Mission in North Dakota. At 12:30 luncheon will be served, and at 1:15, under the leadership of Mrs. Joseph Halstead of Evanston, the Study Class will assemble in the Upper Room to continue its consideration of "The Church Awake." The rector's Bible class meets each Wednesday morning at 10 at the home of Mrs. George Parker, 200 Linden street. The class is studying the char- acter and career of Paul, the Apostle. A cordial invitation is extended to any Winnetka women who may wish to at- tend these meetings.
