Wenberg of 1015 Spruce street, Winnetka, has accepted the po- sition of principal of the Wausa High school, Wausa, Neb., for next year. Mr. Wenberg, a graduate of New Trier High school, will receive his A. B. de- gree, in June, from Yankton college Yankton, S. Dak. During Mr. Wenberg's college course he has been a member of the Track team, Dramatic club, member of the weekly paper staff, cabinet member of the Y. M. C. A. as well as sports editor of the college Annual for 1928. GIVES ALUMNAE TEA Mrs. Otis Ruddick held the fortnightly alumnae tea of Chicago Teacher's college at her home, 510 Fifth street, Wilmette, on Wednes- day, March 14, at 4 o'clock. Mr and Mrs. Rush C. Butler of 40 Locust road plan to leave about April 3, for a trip to Atlantic City, where they will meet their son, Crilley, and spend his spring vacation from Yale with him. Officers Include Local Residents Two north shore women have been elected among the officers of the Illinois society of the Daughters of the British Empire during the annual meeting held all-day Monday at the Woman's City club. The group chosen to guide the state affairs of the D. B. E. for the coming season is composed of Mrs. George Cook Adam, O.B.D, honorary president with vote; Mrs. W. Gray Brown, president; Mrs. Dudley LE. Welch, first vice-president; Mrs. Sidney May, second vice-president; Miss Elizabeth J. Harvey of Winnetka, third vice-president : Mrs. W. D. Hard- ing, recording secretary; Miss Irene Holmes, corresponding secretary; Miss Florence C. Walters, treasurer; Mrs, W. H. Lawton of Wilmette, organizing secretary; Mrs. J. W. Bowen, standard bearer. In addition, to these state officers, national delegates and alternatives were voted upon at Monday's meeting. Joseph Koppel Manages Highland Park Theaters Joseph Koppel, formerly directing manager at the Village theater, Wil- mette, has accepted the position of directing manager at the Alcyon and Pearl theaters at Highland Park. Mr. Koppel enjoys a wide acquaintance among north shore movie-goers and is arranging especially attractive pro- grams at the Highland park theaters, it is announced. BASKETEERS DEFEATED Mallinckrodt High school's basket- ball team contested against the Mary- wood High school team of Evanston last Saturday and was defeated by a score of 40 to 6. The game was played in the Marywood gymnasium. Mal- linckrodt is playing a game with Josephinum High school of Chicago in the Mallinckrodt gymnasium today at 3 o'clock. Mrs. N. Avery Wallner spent a few days last week with Mrs. Wyndham H.
