U. Glee Club Soloist to Give Recital Sunday Hardin Van Deursen, baritone solo- ist of the Northwestern university Glee club, is to give a song recital at the Winnetka Sunday Evening club, March 18. He will be accompanied by Miss Margaret Allbright. Mr. VanDeursen is a resident of Winnetka and well known here as well as in university musical circles, The Win- netka Sunday Evening club invites all young people of High school age to hear this program as well as to all of its meetings which are held in the Camp Fire room of Community House at 6:15 o'clock. N. S. Country Day Seniors Give Class Play March 24 The Senior play, "Tillie of Blooms- bury," by Ivan Hay, will be presented in the auditorium of the North Shore Country Day school, on Friday and Saturday evenings, March 23 and 24. This play was given in Chicago a few years ago, under its second title, "Happy-go-lucky," with O. P. Heggie in the leading role. Every member of the Senior class will have a part in the play, on one of the two nights. Students in English Class for Foreigners to Graduate Monday The English Classes for Foreigners are to hold special exercises in Com- munity House next Monday evening, March 19, marking the close of the winter term, at which time forty-two pupils will receive certificates for work done. The certificates will be presented by Carleton W. Washburne, superin- tendent of public schools in Winnetka, who will also make a short address. There will be talks by Dr. J. W. F. Davies and Mrs. Eloise W. Wortley. The principal address of the evening will be by Seymour Olmsted, who has been teaching the Americanization work in these classes. This work has been carried on by two teachers of the Winnetka Public school, Miss Millicent Anderson and Miss Mabel Ducker, and by Mrs. A. Youngquist, assisted by her daughter, Miss Livea Youngquist, the latter of Horace Mann school. The Good Luck club of foreign young people are to be present as guests.
