There was a remarkable collection of cloth- ing, hats, shoes and bric-a-brac, in- cluding lamp shades, and wcrockery, and from the moment of the opening of the "private sale" which was open to those having tickets of admission only, to the end of the sale the rooms were filled with customers, Many of the women in the north shore suburbs are very active in giving their time and money to this cause. Mrs. John Everett, formerly of Ken- ilworth, together with her two daugh- ters, Carolyn Jane and Joan, returned last week from a winter spent on a cruise of the Mediterranean. They are staying at the Belden-Stratford hotel for the spring months. --QO-- There is a meeting of the Kenil- worth Garden club this Friday after- noon at the home of Mrs. Harry Harrison on Abbottsford road. SCHEIDENHELM, Manager STATE BANK and TRUST COMPANY Orrington at Davis Evanston, Illinois Kenilworth Voters League Attends City Convention A number of women are enjoying the excellent lectures and discussions now going on at the Palmer House, Chicago, under the auspices of the National League of Women Voters and among which were the frank, earnest talks on international relations, given by Professor Frank Latané of Johns Hopkins university, and by Raymond Leslie Buell, director of research for the Foreign Policy association. They made some heretofore hazy facts, clear. These men are considered unbiased by party ties or conditions, and have made a study of the situation from all sides. Mr. Buell reported on the Pan-Ameri- can congress which met in January and gave a clear outline" of things which took place in that congress. Meetings are going on all of this week and every hour is filled with different study groups and confer- ences. POSTPONES D.A.R. MEETING The Skokie Valley chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which had expected to hold its April meeting at the home of Mrs. David DeCamp, Abbottsford road, Kenil- worth, on Monday of this week, had the disappointment of postponement. Mrs. Fannie Cope, the regent, who has been in Florida for some time, was to report the recent Annual Congress of the D.A.R. but during her stay in Washington she contracted a cold and is now confined to her bed at the apartment of her granddaughter, Mrs. Sam Comley of Evanston. Mr. and Mrs. John Rathbone of Abbottsford road, Kenilworth are en- tertaining as house guests this week- end, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Sutton of Grand Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Proctor of Utica, N. Y.
