May 12, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 45 Winnetka Residents Purchase Homesites in Westmoor Trail More than one-third of the West- moor Trail subdivision being offered by Glen C. Bull in Winnetka west of Hibbard road at the foot of West- moor, formerly Fig street, has been acquired by Winnetka residents for future homesites. Erwin A. Meyers, Joseph E. Winter- botham and J. P. Stout acquired 125 feet frontage on the south side about two months ago and more recently E. P. Snyder acquired a like frontage on the south side of this tract and James A. Young acquired frontages of 125 feet on the north side. The fact that all of these men are long time residents of Winnetka who have been looking for some time for a beautiful homesite upon which to erect larger and more beautiful homes, is an indication of the high regard which is held for this section overlook- ing the beautiful skokie Valley. Plans for improvements are being rapidly completed and work is expect- ed to be underway within the next two months. Mr. Bull reports that all of these men have purchased with the ex- pressed understanding that these sites have been acquired for the pur- pose of building a home for the use of the respective purchasers and is an assurance of the high quality of de- velopment that is to take place there. Among the unusual features of this development are the restrictions which a plot of ground of a frontage of not prohibit the erection of any house on less than 125 feet and a minimum of 600 feet between houses which will always assure privacy. The improvements are so planned that there are to be no overhead tele- phone or electric wires to mar the view, all electric conduits to be under- ground. CLEAR OUT SKEETER NEST The channel of the stream over which the bridge on Happ road was built a few years ago, was never thoroughly opened, and the flow of water has been more or less retarded. This improvement was made this week by Highway Commissioner J. A. Wil- liams, and will prove of great benefit in affording better drainage of a large area. KATHERINE KING Teacher of Voice STUDIO--859 Elm Street TELEPHONE WINNETKA 1325 Blackfriars to Present "House That Jack Built" "The House That Jack Built," 1928 musical comedy of the men's dramatic organization at the University of Chicago, will be pre- sented in Mandel hall, 57th street and University avenue, May 18, 19, 25, and 26.
