The pro- gram will also be fea- tured by the apppear- ance of the Glee club of the Excelsior Bible class, composed of young men from Mr. An- derson's church. Mr. Ander- son is well known throughout the Chicago and north shore areas. He is a minister of unusual distinction and his lecture on the Holy Land is one that will un- doubtedly* attract a large audience. The public is invited and no admis- sion is to be charged. The Glee club that will accompany him has also achieved cansiderable prominence and has appeared in con- cert before a number of Chicago au- diences, rendering a pleasing and well balanced musical program. Rev. F. W. Anderson TO ATTEND CONVENTION Miss Cora Queen, Winnetka school nurse, will attend the Nurses' conven- tion which is to be held on June 4 in Louisville, Kentucky, it was announced this week. Will Discontinue Community Nursery School on June 1 The Community Nursery school, or- ganized seven years ago by Miss Cor- inne M. Fitzpatrick, under the spon- sorship of a group of Winnetka citizens, will be discontinued on June 1, it was announced this week. Two years ago Miss Fitzpatrick or- ganized a Nursery group in Lake For- est under the sponsorship of Mrs. Arthur Tuttle. This group has so grown and developed during the in- terim that it will be re-organized this year and developed into a pre-school, kindergarten and primary day school and Miss Fitzpatrick will devote her full time to its supervision, thus neces- sitating the giving up of the local school. Perry Dunlap Smith, head- master of the North Shore Country Day school, will act in advisory ca- pacity. The Winnetka Community Nursery school was started by Miss Fitzpatrick under the sponsorship of Mrs. John S. Miller, Mrs. E. W. Rosenheim, Mrs. J. W. Macy, Mrs. Francis H. Hardy, Mrs. Erskine Wilder and Mrs. Morton Cahn, and their respective husbands. It was a co-operative endeavor, the parents assuming some financial re- sponsibility and the parent group hav- ing always had a place in the life and work of the school. It was started at a time when the nursery school idea was first conceived and at the time when Caroline Pratt was starting her experimental school in New York City. Today Winnetka has several nursery and pre-school groups, directed by skilled professional women and out- growths of the idea first founded in this area by Miss Fitzpatrick.
