He has been the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stordeur, 846 Oak street. Mr. Brownell will leave tomorrow for an extended visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Brownell, also former Winnetka residents. Miss Mary Sullivan and Miss Alice Weber of Winnetka were the guests of Miss Marion I. Pearson of 117 Dupee place over the last week-end. Miss Marion and her guests attended the May dance given by the Junior auxiliary of the Catholic Woman's club of Wilmette, which was held in St. Francis Xavier school hall last Satur- day night. Winnetka Scouts Receive Awards at Honor Court The monthly meeting of the Win- netka Scout Troop committee was held at Community House on Friday eve- ning of last week. Scouts reviewed in tests are as follows: ; Merit badge awards: James Reilly, Troop 1, firemanship and printing; George Beyers, Troop 2, life saving; Tom Larson, Troop 3, swimming, fire- manship and electricity; David Allen, Richard Hoffman, John Elliott of Troop 1 were each awarded the merit badge in firemanship; Stanton Schu- man, Troop 2, personal health. Stanton Schuman qualified as a Star Scout, passing the one remaining merit badge necessary to achieve that rank. Scoutmaster George Eisenbrand of Troop 1 passed Merit Badges in canoe- ing, wood working, wood carving, metal working, and business. Richard Hoffman of Troop 1 passed tests qualifying him for first-class standing. Dwight Green of Troop. 1 and James Goetz of Troop 5 qualified as second- class Scouts. SENIORS ENTERTAIN VISITORS The graduating class of Mallinck- rodt High school entertained the eighth grade pupils of St. Mary's and St. Nicholas schools of Evanston at the Ridge school last Tuesday afternoon. Peanut bunco was enjoyed in the recreation hall. The visiting girls were taken on a tour of inspection through the school after which a picnic and games were held on the school grounds.
