The girls who were work- ing for their firemaker's rank cooked the entire meal over the open fire. A week from next Friday the group will go on a treasure hunt after which they will go to the beach for swimming and their supper. "Akiyuhapi" feels that it has a very good scholarship record this year. AUTOS COLLIDE Two cars were slightly damaged when they collided at Woodland and Winnetka avenues, Thursday evening of last week, according to a report at the police department. One of the cars was driven by John Dingee, of 1624 Chase avenue, Chicago, and the other by Art James, of 164 Woodland avenue. Neither of the drivers was injured, according to the report. Mrs. Leonard Bertoli, 1315 Asbury avenue, gave a bridge party last Wed- nesday afternoon in honor of her two house-guests, Mrs. J. M. Sterling and her daughter, Ethel, who are from Paris, France. Winnetka Women Open Summer Kindergartens Miss Olga Mangel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mangel of 490 Sunset road, Winnetka, has started a neigh- borhood kindergarten school for chil- dren from four to six years of age. The children play, are told stories, and do simple kindergarten work every morning. Miss Mangel is a student at National Kindergarten and Elementary college. Miss Lois Scharf of 509 Cherry street, Winnetka, reopened her sum- mer kindergarten June 18 in her home. The children range in age from three and a half years to six years. The term of her school will close August third.
