Associate Alumnae and League of Women Voters Sponsoring Two- Concert Benefit The associate alumnae of North- western university, together with the Evanston League of Women Voters, are sponsoring two concerts by Sousa and his band Saturday, September 22, in the Patten gymnasium. In the after- noon the program will be selected to appeal to children, while the evening concert will be for adults. The concert is under the manage- ment of Mrs. W. T. Hall, president of the associate alumnae; Mrs. Martin Kent Northam, president of the Ev- anston League of Women Voters; Mrs. Charles H. Betts, treasurer for the benefit; and Mrs. Leighton Jones and Mrs. U. S. Grant, co-chairmen of tickets. Children Compete for Black Hills Vacation Some boy or girl in the Middle West is going to enjoy a vacation in the scenic Black Hills of South Dakota, all expenses, including those of a guardian, paid, for winning a letter- writing contest, according to an- nouncements being made daily during "Baby Ruth Candy Time" programs from the Chicago Daily News Radio station WMAQ at 5 p. m., Chicago daylight savings time. The contest, which is being spon- sored by Otto Y. Schnering, president of the Curtiss Candy company, is for the best letter written by any boy or girl between the ages of 6 and 18, on "Why I Like Baby Ruth Candy." The winner will be awarded a two weeks' trip from Chicago to Rapid City, South Dakota, and return, via the Chicago and North Western railway, all expenses paid, including railroad and Pullman transportation, ten days spent at the new Alex Johnson hotel at Rapid City and Scenic motor tours of the Black Hills Transportation com- pany for himself or herself and guardian.
