Tom Gallery and Dorothy Gulliver will be in the picture also. One critic summarizes it as follows: "Rin-Tin-Tin plus a good story plus good acting. In other words, a good picture." An added attraction at the Community House Tuesday night will be the pic- ture, "Trail of the Tiger." "Thanks for the Buggy Ride," to be shown at the Community House next Friday, July 13, is a comedy with an original idea, and, incidentally, Laura LaPlante's best. The Friday night pro- gram also includes a scenic specialty, "Philadelphia," and a comedy entitled "Playing Hookey." HONOR CECIL DE MILLE Cecil B. de Mille has been honored by being awarded official rank in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, an order of Christian Knighthood sponsored by the Greek Orthodox church. The honor was conferred, it was said, for deMille's service to Christendom in filming "The King of Kings." NO MORE THEATER WAR TAX Np more war tax on theater tickets! Thursday Friday ZR AR RO LL FA \ VARSITY] MARY ASTOR, LLOYD HUGHES Circus thrills, underworld drama, "The 3 Ring Marriage" youthful romance Saturday LEATRICE JOY and JOSEPH SCHILDKRAUT in "THE BLUE DANUBE" Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday July 9--10--11 The greatest soul- story of backstage life ever pictured. Always Pleasantly Cool here "Circus Rookies" Is Next Attraction at the Teatro del Lago Fred Humes, star of Western com- edies, plays a unique role in "Circus Rookies," Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's cir- cus comedy romance co-starring Karl Dane and George K. Arthur, and com- ing to the Teatro del Lago this Satur- day. Humes plays a huge gorilla. He is expert in these delineations and recently played the same type of beast in "Lorraine of the Lions." Louise Lorraine has the heroine role in "Cir- cus Rookies" and demonstrates to a nicety the devastating effect of the feminine influence on the hearts of two wandering susceptible males. Leatrice Joy's recent De Mille studio production for Pathe, "The Blue Danube," has been ably directed and artistically presented. The story is tremendously dramatic, the background supremely attractive, and the finale has a dramatic force seldom pictured on the screen. This picture is to be shown at the Teatro del Lago Sun- day, July 8. Lillian Gish plays the tragic Austrian heroine, Pauli, in "The Enemy," com- ing to the Teatro del Lago next Mon- day and Tuesday. The story deals with the psychological havoc of war rather than its physical damage. It shows an Austrian family in a series of hatreds and troubles brought about by propaganda, hysteria and other breeders of hate that follow in the wake of warfare. It is said to be one of the drama's greatest contribu- tions to the cause of peace. The story was scenarized from the original play and set in elaborate replicas of Austri- an cities constructed at the studios. "Three Ring Marriage," to be shown at the Teatro next Wednesday, July 11, is a starring vehicle for Mary Astor and Lloyd Hughes, one of the most popular romantic combinations the screen offers. It is a tale of young love and jealousy, and it takes its par- ticipants from ranch to circus, finish- ing with a grand melodramatic flourish striped with comedy that leaves every- body happy but the smooth customer who doesn't deserve to be. Alice White, Lawford Davidson, and Yola d'Avril are also in the picture. That Emil Jannings is a great char- acter actor is again demonstrated in his new Paramount starring picture, "The Street of Sin," which will be the Teatro del Lago attraction next Thursday and Friday.
