P. 2400 Famous Lon Chaney Picture Will Be at Varsity Three Days "The Blue Danube," Paul Sloane pro- duction starring Leatrice Joy and Joseph Schildkraut, is to be the Varsity theater attraction for this Saturday. The story in this picture is extremely human. Though not a war picture, the undercurrent of the World War is felt in several sequences and it stresses the tragedy of a proud nation suffering the pangs of galling defeat. Leatrice Joy's attractive personality, her beauty and her sparkling charm shine throughout the picture. Both Joseph Schildkraut and Nils Asther, featured players in support of Miss Joy, are ideally cast. For three days next week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the Varsity will show "Laugh, Clown, Laugh," said to be the greatest story of backstage life ever pictured. It was chosen as one of the six best motion pictures dur- ing the month of June by Photoplay, which says: "This is the best work of Lon Chaney since 'The Unholy Three,' and it is a great relief to have him minus his usual sinister make- up. His characterization of Tito Filk is per- fect." "Laugh, Clown, Laugh" is the old story of the clown who dies that the girl he loves may be happy. Nils Asther as Luigi-Raveli, the millionaire, is more than satisfactory. Loretta Young, as Simonetta, reveals an un- expected display of dramatic ability. a ALABAN & KATZ ORSHORE HOWARD AVE Every Friday Night COLLEGE FROLIC and Discovery Contest Come at 9 P. M. The name of the picture is "A Certain Young Man." Miss Myers makes a most attractive scorned lady in a beautiful blonde wig that becomes her almost, if not quite, as much as her own dark hair. Marceline Day, as the [ sweet young thing, is pretty, and deter- minedly saccharine. Huntley Gordon, that fine actor, hasn't much to do as her father, but does that little perfectly, of course. Renee Adoree, in her role of the little milliner, is characteristically adept and peppy. Ramon Novarro is a nice boy, and acts 'd MARKS BROS.
