Stone Becomes His Suc- cessor as New President of Wil- mette State Bank S. A. Wheelock, president of the Wilmette State bank for the past thir- teen years, has retired from active connection with the bank. Upon his retirement, Judson F. Stone, a director for more than twelve years and chair- man of the executive committee, was elected president. Mr. Wheelock came to the Wilmette State bank in 1915 after having re- tired from the firm of Wayne and Low, with which he was associated for many years, having been one of the foremost merchants on South Water street. During his presidency, the bank has had a prosperous growth, the total deposits having increased more than $3,000,000. Mr. Wheelock is in his eighty-first year and until re- cently, has been very active in the bank affairs, but due to advancing vears, he has decided to take a less active part. He will remain on the 3oard of Directors. Tudson F. Stone, the new president, has been a resident of Wilmette for twenty-two years and is very active in Chicago and Wilmette, both in busi- ness and civic affairs. He is manag- ing agent of the McCormick estates and a director of the International Harvester company. He is also presi- "| dent of the Belle City Malleable Iron company of Racine, Wis., a director of the Republic Realty Mortgage com- pany and also a director of various other financial and commercial enter- prises. Mr. Stone was a former presi- dent of the Chicago Association of Commerce. He is also a director of the Chicago Regional Planning com- mission, and he has served as a Wil- mette Village trustee and on the zon- ing board. The other officers of the bank are: Philip Hoffman, vice president; W. D. Leary, vice president; J. M. Budinger, cashier; W. B. Robinson, Jr., assistant cashier, and F. D. Anderson, assistant cashier. PLAY FOR TROPHY The second round of play in the president's trophy race is scheduled for this Saturday, July 21, at the North Shore Golf club. There will be a blind bogey, with prizes for winner and run- ner up, and low gross, classes A and B. Dr. and Mrs. Frank Cheeseman, formerly of Kenilworth, have returned from Brown university where they attended the graduation of their son, Eugene. On their return trip Dr. Cheeseman stopped at Virginia Hot Springs for the Whist congress. From there they went to visit the John Carpenters at their summer home in Virginia. --_--Q The Kenilworth Garden club will meet today at the home of Mrs. E. J.
