The farmers are paid a substantial premium for the extra care taken in producing this milk. It is cooled immediately after milking with ice or mechanical re- frigeration to below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and kept constantly cool, except during pasteurization, until delivered at your door. That's but one of the many' reasons why "Selected" is "The Better Drinking Milk" You won't need to coax your children to drink "Selected." It's important that they should drink at least four -glasses of milk each day. They need it for growing bones, str muscles and firm, white teeth. They'll drink "Selected with real enjoyment. There's a decided trend for grown-ups to drink milk lib- erally. Try two glasses a day for a month and notice how much better you feel. 17¢ a Quart Remember the Borden milkman carries cream, butter, eggs, cottage cheese blended . with rich cream, soured cream, etc. om a ORDERING "SELECTED" BORDEN'S FARM PRODUCTS CO. of ILLINOIS Catch Dog, Summon Doctor, Must Follow Bite from Any Dog Catch the dog and call a doctor. These are the two cardinal things to do in case of dog bite according to Dr. Isaac D. Rawlings, state health director, who points out in a "dog days" interview that rabies has already cost the state nearly a score of human lives this year and is still a problem of no insignificant magnitude in Illinois. "Don't kill the dog," said Dr. Rawl- ings, "but catch him if he bites a per- son. Sometimes dogs that are not rabid bite people and under that cir- cumstance it would be an unnecessary expense to give the victim pasteur treatment. If the dog is killed an element of doubt immediately sur- rounds the case and even if laboratory tests fail to show signs of rabies, cir- cumstances often demand that pas- teur treatment be given for the sake of safety. "Calling a doctor or rushing to his office is equally as important as catch- ing the dog. A doctor can cauterize the wound with fuming nitric acid and that procedure, if promptly applied after a bite by a rabid dog, will sel- dom be followed by rabies. "When a suspected dog is captured he can be kept under observation and if he is actually suffering from rabies the disease will manifest itself unmis- takably within a few days. Rabid dogs never live longer than ten days after the disease becomes active.
