The members will have a 1 o'clock luncheon at the Cottage in Barrington, and will then proceed to Oak Knolls, where the show is to be held. The club is enter- ing a number of exhibits. Last week the club members visited the Conservatory at Garfield Park, and under the guidance of August Koch, they saw and were told of the 3,500 tropical plants, the food plants, and the propagation conservatory. Following this tour under the direc- tion of this interesting man, the club had a picnic luncheon in the park. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wolfe left Kenilworth August 1, to spend the month at Cardinal's camp, Trout Lake, Wis., where they have taken a cottage. The Theater Guild is now se- lecting its first production for the new season's series and is preparing tO launch the most active season of its history early in the autumn. Truck Driver Injured in Crash at Ridge Crossing J. Herdel, 1033 Wesley avenue, Ev- anston, truck driver for Conrad Schmeisser, 1715 Sherman avenue, Ev- anston, was injured when the truck he was driving was bumped from the rear by a car driven by Henrik Ander- son, 414 Maple avenue, Wilmette, Wed- nesday morning at the intersection of Ridge and Wilmette avenues. Herdel had stopped for the lights when the accident occurred. He was taken to Evanston by a passing motorist, where his injuries were treated. SHOWERS FOR BRIDE Two more affairs have been given in honor of Miss Helen Carney of Glencoe, whose marriage to Earl Mc- Neil of Fox Lake will take place this morning at 10 o'clock, in the Sacred Heart church. Thursday evening of last week Miss Jeannette Keil was hostess at a bridge and handkerchief shower and this past Tuesday Miss Helen Tilroe entertained at a. personal shower for Miss Carney. Both Miss Keil and Miss Tilroe entertained in their homes in Winnetka. Mr. and Mrs. James C. Jule Petersen and Hugh Petersen are building a very at- tractive lodge near Mercer and expect to spend part of each summer there.
