Vandercook Are Married Miss Janet Reed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Reed of Wilmette, became the bride of Frederic R. Vandercook at 4:30 o'clock Satur- day afternoon at the home of her parents. Mr. Vandercook is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Vandercook of Evanston. Miss Dorothy Wright of Rogers Park was the maid of honor and Har- old Noos of Evanston was the best man. The Rev. Thomas A. Goodwin of Winnetka performed the ceremony in a bower of green palms, fern, and all the colorful garden flowers. The bride's dress was of champaign chiffon, she wore a horse-hair hat to match, and carried a Colonial bouquet. Miss Wright wore peach colored chif- fon, a hat to match, and carried an arm bouquet of butterfly roses. At the reception after the wedding, an unusual bridal cake combined the festivities of Mr. Vandercook's birthday and the wedding day by adding tiers of white candles to the bridal decorations of the cake. The couple have gone on a motor trip west and will be gone a month before returning to Evanston. They plan to visit Yellowstone park, San Francisco, and many places on the George E. Frazer Purchases Large Winnetka Estate McGuire and Orr report the sale of tHe Thompson Ross home at 435 Sheri- dan road, Winnetka, to George E. Frazer. This is a Colonial home of twelve rooms, four baths, large ga- rage with gymnasium above. The property extends from Sheridan road through to Lake Michigan, a depth of about 500 feet, with riparian rights. The frontage is 75 feet. Miss J. L. Floyd was co-broker in the sale. Pam and Hurd were attorneys for the seller and Carl Latham for the purchaser. The property had been offered for $150,000. William Otter, formerly of Wilmette, has just purchased an English type residence located on Eastwood road in McGuire and Orr's Skokie Heights subdivision. This residence was just completed last spring by Thomas IL Simpson, builder, and is very unique in floor plan and modern conveniences. The actual consideration is not dis- closed but Mr. Simpson was offering the property at $49,000. McGuire and Orr represented both parties in the transaction. Mrs. R. N. Peutz of 452 Sunset road and Richard, Jr., left last Tuesday for Boston and Cape Cod to visit with Mrs. Peutz sister. west coast. They will be at home at 2314 Sherman avenue, Evanston, after the first week in September. Pad
