Winnetka, during the season, has had included in its schedule of games, some of the best semi-pro teams in the Chicago area. The team has won its share of games and has enjoyed the hearty support of an enthusiastic fandom. The usual large turnout is anticipated for tomorrow to witness the Winnetka-Glencoe match. Christ Church Setting for Wedding Ceremony Christ church, Winnetka was the scene of the marriage on Thursday evening, September 20, of Miss Ethel- wynne Hope Penwith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Penwith of Chicago, to Elisha Paxton Whitehead, son o Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Kynoch of Lake Bluff. The reception following the cere- mony was held at the North Shore hotel. The wedding party was made up of Miss Blanche Brown of Bloomington, I]l., the maid of honor; Mrs. Frederick Hagen of Evanston, Miss Shirley Mc- Kav of Highland Park, the brides- maids; Laird Heggland of Lake Bluff, who served as best man, and John Mor- ell Penwith, Robert Grusenday, of Chi- cago, John Cuyler Baker, Jr, of Lake Bluff, and Robert Bartlett of LaGrange, the ushers. Senior Music Club in First Meeting of Year The Senior Music club of New Trier Township High school held its first meeting of the school year at the home of Miss Jane Willard in Wilmette, Thursday night of this week. The program included the following num- bers: violin solo by Effie James, piano solo by Patricia Goodhue, cello solo by Rose Fieman, and vocal solo by Robert Brown. The Junior Music club of New Trier will hold its first meet- ing of the year next week. Interest Centers In Play for Roche Drug Company Cup With two of the three cup trophies of the Winnetka Playfield Gold course safely stored for another year, interest is now centered in the three remaining rounds, including the final, to determine who is entitled to the pretty Dirigold cup which was posted this season by the Roche Drug Co., of Hubbard Woods. In the second round play for this rophy, last Saturday and Sunday, F. E. Mullen defeated C. Waterton, 6 and 5; W. Wolter beat J. Belmont, 1 up; Jim Whitaker won over A. McDougal, 2 up; >. Kreger defeated F. Belmont, 2 and 1; H. Carpenter beat E. Hartshorn, 1 up on he 19th hole; I.. M. Shaw defeated W. Shuster, 8 up and 6 to play. The Roche cup, including the base, is 22 inches high and is proving one of the most coveted trophies of the season. Weil, Shearer Win Blind Bogey Tournament Prizes In the blind bogey tournament at Skokie Playfield, Saturday and Sun- day, E. M. Weil and W. G. Shearer each won five golf balls, first prize, with an 84; George Sunderland and F. Wolter were second, with an 86, each receiving three golf balls, and J. H. Rowe, with an 88, was third.
