Only $6.25 900 Parents View Class Procedure at High School Approximately 900 parents attended the annual Parents' Day at New Trier High school Thursday, October 25. Mothers and fathers of freshman and sophomore students at the high school turned out in large numbers to attend the classes, which were held as usual, except that they began at 1:45 in the afternoon and ran through the evening. The purpose of Parents' Day is to acquaint parents with the work of the school. The plan was inaugurated several years ago when Dr. Frederick E. Clerk became superintendent at New Trier. Juniors and seniors were dismissed from classes last Thursday in order to make room for freshmen and soph- omore parents attending the event. Teachers Entertain at Gathering of Mothers Mothers of pupils. in Miss Erma Smith's third grade and Miss Hazel Sutherland's first grade at the Horace Mann school were entertained at the school last week. In Miss Smith's room, where about eighteen mothers attended, a discussion of the work of the pupils and of plans for making the room more attractive took place, while in Miss Sutherland's room Superin- tendent Washburne gave a short talk.
