TC ------ 1 Aten A --_; November 3, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 15 On Club Program eI 00 I OI 0 FE OE OE OE 0 I OE O 1 OI O10 10 A regular meeting of the Winnetka Woman's club was held Tuesday after- noon in the clubhouse. Before the meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Carl Zeiss, a pleasant reception was held in the club rooms for the new members of the club. After a few short announcements, Mrs. Zeiss turned the meeting over to Mrs. Harry I.. Street, chairman of the music committee. Mrs. Street in- troduced the artists of the afternoon, Miss Lillian Pringle, 'cellist; Oscar Heather, tenor; and Miss Prudence Webb, accompanist. They gave a most interesting and varied program. Miss Pringle played all of her num- bers with a rich, mellow tone and her interpretations were artistic. Mr. Heather has an appealing tenor voice, which, in "The Dream" taken from the opera, "Manon," was at its best. Miss Webb played most sympathetic accompaniments. The following program was given: I Arietta . Jerger Song of Pan Popper To a Water Lily MacDowell Harlequin a Popper Miss Pringle II Have you Seen hut a White Lily Grow Anonymous My Lovely Celia. ... Whether or not there is any significance in this fact, the accident occurred on Ridge ave- nue, just outside the gate to Memor- ial Park cemetery, Evanston. But Sergeant Enault declined to enter, this time. He continued to his police du- ties in Winnetka, none the worse for his experience except a severe bump on his head. The steering wheel and some glass in his car were broken. Find Dog Owners Lax in Observing Muzzling Law The large number of unmuzzled dogs that are being corraled while running at large in the village, lead the Winn- etka police to believe that owners of dogs are simply overlooking the fact that the dog muzzling ordinance is still in force, or are becoming lax in its observance. The danger from can- ine rabies is not over, it is pointed out, and when dogs are permitted on the streets they must either be muzzled or led by leash. TAKE APARTMENT HERE Dr. Frank N. Woods, dentist with offices at 833 Elm street, Winnetka, and his mother, Mrs Clara S. Woods, who recently moved to Winnetka from Cape Cod, Mass., have taken an apart- ment in the Tower Court building, on Linden avenue, Hubbard Woods. TO SEW FOR PHILANTHROPY The philanthropy department of the Woman's Catholic club of Wilmette will hold a sewing meeting at the home of Mrs. J. B. Budinger, 1731 Walnut avenue, at 1 o'clock Wednesday, No- vember 7.
