Lecture Theme "Creative Expression in the Kinder- garten and Primary Grades" was the subject of an address given by Miss Kdna Dean Baket, president of the National Kindergarten and Elementary college at the meeting of the South- western Ohio Teachers association held in Cincinnati on Friday, Octo- ber 26. Miss Baker was the guest of the dean of the College of Education, Uni- versity of Cincinnati, at the annual alumni luncheon on Friday, and en- joyed the opportunity of meeting many of the alumni. November 8, Miss Baker will speak before the Wisconsin State Teachers association in Milwaukee, giving a brief talk at luncheon on "Progressive European Schools," and an address in the afternoon before the Kindergarten- Primary section on "Creative Expres- sion in Kindergarten and the First Three Grades." Saturday, November 10, Miss Baker will be the speaker at the second and third grade departmental meeting of the Central Ohio Teachers' association in Columbus, Ohio, where her topic will be "Behavior Problem." COLLISION ON ELM STREET Late Sunday night a car driven by Ivan Peterson, of 1717 Broadview ave- nue, Highland Park, collided with a taxicab driven by Glen Ford, the acci- dent occurring on Elm street near the Chicago and North Western tracks. The steering gear on the Peterson car was damaged and the rear door of the taxi was crushed, according to the police. SCHNITZER Christian Science "Probation after Death," was the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientists, on Sun- day, October 28. The Golden Text was, "I am the re- surrection, and the life: he that be- lieveth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25). Among the citations which com- prised the lesson-sermon was the fol- lowing from the Bible: "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that be- lieveth" (Romans 10:1, 4). The lesson-sermon also included the following passages from the Chris- tian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "Be watchful, sober, and vigilant.
