The date is under her bust and 13 stars surround her signifying the thirteen colonies. On the reverse of the coin features ONE CENT, encircled by a open wreath of two olive branches tied with a bow. United States of America surrounds the wreath. The coin were made of copper, weighed 10.89 grams, and had a diameter of 29 millimeters. The coins had a plain edge.
