- John M. Anderson was known as "Padre Jock." Chaplain to the Highland Light Infantry of Canada. Landed at Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Received two Military Crosses for courage and initiative in evacuating casualites under heavy enemy fire. Jock and his wife moved to Oakville in 1963.
