- Photo One: (Top Left) AGAINST POLLUTION- These Elliot Lake students Wayne Grudzinski and Franco Locatelli proved their concern for the future recently. They undertook an extensive survey of pollution in the area and the results now form the basis of classroom research.
Photo Two (Bottom Left) FUTURE SECRETARY - The use of Audio-Visual equipment is becoming more evident in the educational systems of the province. The North Shore Board of Education moves with this trend as future secretaries practice shorthand through the use of dictating equipment.
Photo Three: (Top Right) FILM MAKERS - Catching the imagination and ability of students in high schools administered by the North Shore Board of Education various extra curricular activities. Film making has been one of these and recently these students of the Elliot Lake Secondary School directed and produced an award winning film. While film making is fun, as its growing popularity proves, it is also a valuable way to improve knowledge of English for scripts must also be written and edited. The first film festival was organized by Elliot Lake students.
Photo Four: (Middle Right) WELL HURDLED - Action during a track meet at the Elliot Lake Secondary School highlights an important acquisition...the track and field complex recently completed. Built to exact standards, and with provision for a football field, jumping pits and various athletic activities, the track and field has been recognized as one school need filled by the North Shore Board of Education. Plans are now laid to build a similar complex at Blind River.
Photo Five: (Bottom Right) AGAINST TOMORROW - Increased leisure time may be the lot of today`s students in the world of tomorrow. Extra curricular activities, like this chess club in schools of the North Shore Board of Education help students in the use of future idle hours. The more permissive atmosphere while appreciated by pupils is not abused.
