Tmmy Olmstead Honored

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cullis was tlie scene of a jolly party Friday evening, June 4th, when a number of friends gathered in honor of O.S. Tommy Olmstead, R.C.N.V.R. of Esquimaldt, B;C., who was home on leave before going to the East Coast for further training.

A very enjoyable evening was spent in' chatting, games and music, after which the hostess served deilicous refreshments, assisted by Mrs. J. A. St. John, Mrs. A. H. Johnson and Miss Blanche Stewart.

Later, on behalf of the guests, Mary Jackson presented Tommy with a loyely gift.

Pte. George Stewart, R.C.O.C., of Brookvilie. who was also present was remembered with a gift. The presentation was made by Hilda Cullis.

Mr. Wm. Cullis, being a Veteran of the last War, made very fitting remarks during the presentations. On behalf of those present Mr. S. J. Emiry extended best wishes "to both boys for their success and safe return. Tommy and George both expressed appreciation.

After a jolly sing-song the happy evening was brought to a close by the singing of the National Anthem.

The invited guests were: Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson, Mr. and: Win. Keetch. Mr. and Mrs. George Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Brown, Mr. and Mrs; J. A. St.John, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs Art Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. S. Emiry, Mr. and Mrs. Win. Cullis Mrs. Thos. Olmstead. Jean McCreight Dorothy Johnson, Marjorie Stewart' Blanche Stewart, Pat Olmstead, Rath Thos Olmstead, Marie Cullis, Mary' Jackson, Hilda Cullis, Bill Cullis Jr. Jackie Cullis, Leonard Hopkins, Norman Hopkins, Jack Stewart, O.S.| Tommy Olmstead, and Pte. George Stewart.

An enjoyable afternoon was spent Thursday at the home of Rachael McLennan when Mrs. Olmstead family were entertained in honor of Tommy. A delicious lunch was served, also home made ice cream which was some treat for Tommy.

Those present were, Mrs. Thos Olmstead, Pat, Ruth Ann. O.S Tommy Olmstead, Mrs. Rachael McLennan, Miss Sadie Draper
