- Description
- Lorne was born July 10, 1881 in Elginfield where his father worked at the newspaper. The family moved a lot when he was young but he was always in close contact with the newspaper industry. Lorne completed his education in Toronto before returning to St. Marys to take over the Journal Argus after his father fell ill. He ran the newspaper for the rest of his life and was very involved in the newspaper industry at large, particularly during the First World War. He was also a dedicated church goer. Lorne died in July 1946 leaving behind three children and his wife.
