- Description
- This house, located at 389 Queen Street East, has a very different appearance in comparison to how it looked at the time this photo was taken, in the early 1970s. The house is still covered in horizontal white siding. However, the porch has been altered, with the removal of the four rectangular pillars and brackets seen in this photo, along with the railings and fretwork design. Instead, a simpler porch is now at the front of the house. The upper level balcony had added some grandeur to the small house, but it has been removed, with the balcony door now acting as a window. The detailing under the gable roof on either side of the house has been traded for vertical siding. The details once seen on this house were a common style choice in the mid to late 19th century.
