- Description
- This photo of the Colley residence was taken in 1900 by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor. The house was built c. 1870 by Edward Colley, who owned a tinsmith business in St. Marys. Colley lived here with his wife, Elizabeth and three children, Herbert, Ada and Jessie. In 1900, Elizabeth, now widowed, lived in the home with her daughter Ada and ran a boarding house out of the property. The Colleys lived in the home until 1936. Between the years of 1909 and 1915, a number of additions were made to the house. Now the house appears quite different from how it looked when this photo was taken, with additional verandas and an extra dormer extension to the North side of the home.
