- This photo shows the house located at 217 Jones Street East as it appeared in 1899. The photo was taken by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor. The house was built ca. 1875 for Harriet and Clarence Freeman. Harriet was the daughter of grain merchant and notable businessman George Carter. This house was one of four home built by George Carter for the members of his family.
The central dormer and trim on the house is visible above the trees at the top of the photo. A hitching post can be seen near the center of the photograph, with sidewalk steps leading down to Peel Street behind it. - Notes
- Condition: Fair - Image is somewhat clear. Slight discolouration and severe blemishes and fading around outer edges. Matte is in excellent condition.
