Description

A photo looking west, upstream from the London Bridge. Part of the power house is visible through the trees on the south bank of Trout Creek below the pillars of the London Bridge. The power house or "pump house" was built in 1898 as a means of pumping water when the municipal water system was installed in St. Marys. There was an electrical room holding steam powered generators which provided a small amount of electricity to the town to be used for necessities such as street lights. This photo was taken by local amateur photographer Milton Reesor.

Notes

Condition: Fair - Image is fairly clear. Photo is darkened significantly and discoloured. Wear along the bottom right edge of the photo paper. Album matte is in fair condition, severe staining along edges and material loss on top right corner.
