Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. This image is of Jones Street facing East just before the intersection of Jones and King Street. On the right side of the image is 236 Jones Street property.

This house was built in the early 1880's by architect William Williams in Second Empire style. The house was given as a wedding gift to Charlotte, daughter of George Carter, and husband Henry Lincoln Rice.
The house has been known as many different names throughout its time, some of those names are; "Charlotte's House," "Ercildoune" and more recently "Lionvale."
Notes
Condition: Good- the edges and corners of the postcard are worn; colour has chipped away in these areas.

This postcard has been used.
