Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. It shows two young girls standing on the west bank of the Thames River, just south of the bridge. The Victoria Bridge was built in 1865 to replace the current wooden one, at the cost of $4450. Walkways and larger parapets were added, and major renovations done in the 1930s and 1984. It was designated as historically and architecturally significant by the Town of St. Marys in 1978.
