Description
An article written by local columnist Dorothy Eedy titled "While poor became poorer, rich caught with hands in forbidden cookie jar". Eedy reflects on the 1980s and the widening income inequality. She discusses Canadian real estate ownership in the United States and how 'snowbirds' help boost the economy in states with warm climates. Eedy also writes about a documentary she watched on the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helen in Washington, U.S.A. Eedy mentions a pending war in her article, she is possibly referring to the Gulf War (August 1990 - February 1991).

Recipes included in the article: "Mini Yellow Squash", "Creamed Spinach", "Orange-Glazed Peas", "Lemony Peas and Rice" and "Garlicky Golden Potato Dollars".
