Description
This photograph shows the dam and Rice Lake in August, 1979. There are two sailboats out on Rice Lake.

Rice Lake was formed by the creation of our present dam, which was constructed from stone and concrete in a six-week period in 1908 by the George Carter Company. The dam created a mill pond so large it created a small lake, which was named Rice Lake after H.L. Rice, the owner of the company at the time.
