- This is a photograph of John Wilson Eedy, son of Lorne A. Eedy and grandson of John Wolfe Eedy, in his military uniform. John Wilson Eedy was born in St. Marys in 1915 and was a student at Central School and St. Marys Collegiate. In 1937, John Wilson Eedy graduated from the University of Toronto, becoming the third generation of the Eedy family to do so. John Wilson Eedy served as an officer during the Second World War with the Oxford Rifles. During his service he was stationed in Prince George, B.C where he met and married Dorothy May Strom in 1943. After the death of his father Lorne A. Eedy, he assumed the role of publisher-editor of the St. Marys Journal Argus. John Wilson Eedy continued to write his column, “The Rambling Reporter”, until his death in 1996. R. Lorne Eedy, the third son of John Wilson Eedy, succeeded him as publisher of the St. Marys Journal Argus in 1974.
