Description
This is a photograph of the middle building in the row of buildings on the southwest corner of Jones and Water Streets. It is 48 Water Street South, along with the building to its right. A man and woman are riding in a horse and carriage in front of the building and a woman is walking with her children.

This building is one of the earliest stone commercial blocks in St. Marys. It was erected for James Dinning, a pioneer shoemaker, around 1857. The building, along with the two buildings on either side, was restored and remodelled in 1989. It still stands, and although it looks very different, some features remain unchanged - notably the small balcony visible in this photograph.
Notes
Condition: poor - photo is very dirty/discoloured and there is a large crease in the upper left corner.
