- (A) - white ceramic art deco-style electric wall sconce - stepped shield form base with centre hole to secure to wass; from this base projects an arm ending in an octagonal shaped socket containing the electrical socket; at the bottom is a white ceramic switch that can be turned to illuminate the light
- stamped on back in black ink - blurred , also green CSA approval sticker
(B) - threaded tube with silver coloured end cap; fits through the hole in (A) to secure it to the wall (18.2cmX1.5cm)

-The Public General Hospital building in Chatham, Ontario was completed in 1893. In addition to assuming the normal functions of a hospital, PGH also included a Training School for Nurses. The Alumnae Association of the Chatham General Hospital Training School for Nurses was established in 1921. By 1960, seven additions had been added to the original hospital building. In 1964, a new Nurses' Education Building was opened. Since then, several construction projects have been undertaken, from the 1966 demolition of the original hospital building and subsequent construction of the new west wing (1968) to the 2004 establishment of the new Chatham-Kent Health Alliance which amalgamated Public General Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. The School of Nursing was transferred to St. Clair College in 1973.
