Description
A red and green jacquard coverlet woven circa 1860 by F. Edward Graf. The pattern is double rose lattice with a medallion border in reversed chevron 'goose-eye'. The warp (vertical threads) is white cotton and the weft (horizontal threads) is red and green wool. The image shows the front and back of the coverlet and the intricate pattern is visible on both sides. There is fringe on all three sides. The cartouche in the bottom corners read "DOUBLE/ROSE" mirrored in four squares.
