- - silver Canada General Service medal, the obverse bearing the bust of Queen Victorian, the reverse bearing the red ensign encircled by a wreath of maple leaves with "CANADA" above, the medal is suspended by a straight silver bar to which is attached a clasp with wording "FENIAN RAID 1866" - the edge of the medal is impressed 'Pte. W. Coyle 2nd Chatham I. Co."
- it is suspended by a silk ribbon (replacement) of equal red, white and red stripes
