Description

Mary Caven was born in Scotland in 1803 and died at her home near Motherwell in 1901. If this photograph was taken in 1893, it was her 90th birthday in spite of the inscription on the original photograph.
Mary Caven's son, the Reverend William Caven, married Margaret Goldie of Galt. The photographer may be a relative by marriage.

Condition: Fair. Photo is very dirty, worn and stained. It has also yellowed considerably. Handle only if necessary.
