Description
Photo of an older woman (Caroline Sparks - Dr. Thomas' wife) sitting in a chair in the living room holding onto a book looking towards the camera.
In the background we can see out the window which shows that this photo was taken in the wintertime.

Ercildoune was originally built as a wedding gift to George Carter's daughter Charlotte when she married Henry Lincoln Rice in 1880. The home is built in the Second Empire style, a very rare style of home in St. Marys or any other small town. The Sparks' family lived in this home from about 1905 into the 1950s.
