I showed my Mom this photo and she did a bit of digging. Here are her findings.
"I got on Ancestry and found that these two men were born in the 1870's to William and Nancy Hazelwood of Kirkton. In 1901 both James and Ed were boarding in Florence at the Scarletts. James was a piano tuner. He married Maud Tiffin and they later lived in Dresden.
I also found out that Ed was a barber in Florence and he married a McIntosh from Kent County. I haven't found yet where he lived.
Loren Scarlett is pictured page 405 of the Euphemia Township history book. He is the one that the Hazelwoods boarded with. In the writeup it mentions Loren Scarlett played bass with a Quartet in Ridgetown. His picture is there and I think there is a very strong resemblance to the one playing the bass in the picture above. The hairline is definitely the same."
